Cosmopolitan Sydney

Sydney, the capital of New South Wales and the largest city in Australia, is home to a number of iconic buildings, as well as some of the most expensive real estate in the world.

Our model focuses on the Central Business District and Royal Botanic Gardens - this includes many notable buildings such as Chifley Tower (244m), Citigroup Centre (243m), the structural Deutsche Bank Place (240m) and the stark MLC Centre (228m).

Some newer construction is missing, notably International Towers 1 to 3 in Barangaroo (168m-217m), and the upcoming Crown Sydney (271m) and Greenland Centre Sydney (237m). The tallest structure in Sydney is the Sydney Tower, reaching 309m (1014ft), which has been specially modeled for these maps, and is a bit delicate.

One of the Seven Wonders of the world…

Tourists flock to other attractions, such as the graceful, curved forms of the Sydney Opera House, which appears at the Northern edge of each of our models, and Hyde Park, the oldest park in the nation. The photogenic Sydney Harbour Bridge, unfortunately, is too far North to be featured. The 8-inch/20cm model runs N-S from Park St to the Opera House, and E-W from the Convention Centre to Woolloomooloo. Our 12-inch/30cm model extends South to the Anzac Memorial and West to Pyrmont.

In the Southwest corner of our Sydney models is the old Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, demolished in 2014 - the year after the area was laser-scanned to create the data used for these models.
