MiniCty finally brings you Copenhagen. Indre By (“Inner City”) is the historic heart of Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital. The district boasts stunning castles, cathedrals, and historic buildings, many of which operate as art galleries and museums. Tivoli, also known as Tivoli Gardens first opened in 1843. Widely regarded as a Danish cultural institution, it is the second oldest operational amusement park in the world (the very oldest being Dyrehavsbakken, also located in Denmark). An even older, perhaps even more iconic landmark, is Rundetårn (the Round tower), built by King Christian IV in 1637 to house an observatory, university library, and church. Its spiraling ramp winds seven and a half times around the tower’s hollow-core, leading visitors up to the oldest functioning observatory in Europe.

Hub for art lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike

This detailed 3D print showcases even more notable Copenhagen landmarks, including the King’s Garden; Rosenborg Castle; Ørsteds Park; the grand neoclassical Copenhagen Cathedral; Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, a fine-art museum with 19th-century French and Danish works; Christiansborg Palace (which functions as the seat of Danish Parliament, the Prime Ministers Office, and the Supreme Court); Charlottenborg Palace which was built in 1672 and is now a contemporary art museum; the Danish Museum of Art & Design, and the National Gallery of Denmark–known locally as SMK (Statens Museum Kunst).

The MiniCty models of Copenhagen are built from laser-scan data from 2017, so are missing a few notable buildings: Axel Towers, opposite from Tivoli Gardens, with its beautiful brise-soleil (“sun-breaker”) facade that deflects sunlight, and the Center for Danish Architecture.

As the prints get larger, the buildings get bigger and the detail increases!
